Position: Supply Chain Internship

Department: Supply Chain Management

Location: Prescott Valley, AZ

Reports to: Site Materials Manager

Status: Intern, Paid


General Purpose: Apply knowledge acquired in the classroom to real-world situations while learning about multiple aspects of the business. Aid the site supply chain and logistics functions while gaining insight into the overall SCM strategy of the company.


  • Maintains accurate records of open purchase orders
  • Records the receipt of incoming deliveries using shipping documentation from the supplier, e.g. packing lists, manifests, etc.
  • Reconciles the quantities and description of received materials to open purchase orders; records and reports any discrepancies to site supply chain management team
  • Performs timely data entry of all receiving transactions into the ERP system
  • Performs visual inspection of all delivered materials and reports damages or other non-conformance issues to Materials Manager
  • Facilitates the timely distribution of receiving paperwork from freight carriers to material handlers and ultimately to Supply Chain and Finance
  • Coordinates the disposition of received materials via timely communication with material handlers and plant supervision
  • Enters purchase orders
  • Expedites deliveries from vendors as needed
  • Assists with cycle counts and physical inventories
  • Assists with maintaining records in the Item Master
  • Other duties as assigned


  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. and in the process of continuing education in a related field
  • Excellent data entry and communication skills
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Software and DataWorks or other operating systems as required
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Completion of Freshman year of four-year college with a major in business, supply chain, logistics, or related field
