Position: Mechanic Internship

Department: Maintenance

Location: MI Profiles Extrusion Facility, Millersburg, PA

Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Status: Intern, Paid


General Purpose: Apply knowledge acquired in the classroom to real world situations while learning about multiple aspects of the business, while becoming proficient in general maintenance practices such as preventative maintenance and repairing equipment that includes but is not limited to electrical and pneumatic energy.


  • Maintains, troubleshoots, performs preventative maintenance, and repairs equipment in assigned area under the guidance of higher-level utility mechanics
  • Maintains open and accurate communication with other maintenance team members as well as supervisor
  • Accurately completes all assigned work orders, documenting all prudent information describing the completion of the work with the assistance of experienced mechanics
  • Performs technical maintenance tasks under close supervision
  • Provides all information necessary to maintain proper parts inventories
  • Works under the supervision of maintenance mechanics on projects
  • Maintains all facility grounds and services
  • Performs all work in a safety manner following all company safety policies and procedures
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned


  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. and in the process of continuing education in a related field
  • Basic understanding of electricity
  • Have the desire to learn every aspect of the manufacturing maintenance environment
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
