Accounting/Finance Intern

MI Windows and Doors has an exciting opportunity for a motivated, detail-oriented, and problem-solving intern to join its Accounting/Finance team. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with a large and rapidly growing company while learning what it’s like to work in a fast-paced environment. The intern will learn about various accounting/finance functions and work closely with the entire team to deliver accurate, timely financial reporting.


  • Reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Prepare and post routine period-end journal entries
  • Enter invoices into ERP system for payment
  • Reconcile internal expense reports with receipts and ensuring compliance with company policies
  • Apply customer remittances to open item invoices
  • Assist staff with data entry and accounting month-end closing procedures and financial reports
  • File and match invoices to receiving paperwork, packing slips, etc.
  • Interact with larger corporate teams and other business stakeholders as needed
  • Conduct other tasks as assigned


Note: The intern’s personal interests and concentration of studies will be considered when determining projects and duties.


  • Junior or senior working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Strong organization skills & attention to detail with high-level accuracy
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Integrity a must
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience Excel Power Pivot or Power BI a plus
  • Good reasoning, problem-solving and logic skills
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
