This position is responsible for overseeing the Shipping Department including: plan, coordinate and supervise the activities of the shipping department during the night shift (3 p.m. start time) to ensure that product is shipped out and on a timely basis.


  • Coordinates the manufacture and shipment of products to meet shipment schedules.
  • Determines proper packing and crating of goods to be shipped.
  • Provides accurate bills of lading and keeps records of goods shipped.
  • Schedules and expedites appropriate transportation to comply with shipping deadlines.
  • Work with Dispatcher to monitor and actively pursue lowest possible freight rates.
  • Ensure the integrity of the location systems.
  • Organize and maintain the staging areas to ensure maximum safety and efficiency.
  • Perform all supervisory duties including: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Develop and maintain a cooperative working relationship with transportation and other applicable suppliers & customers.
  • Cooperates with all departments to assure a coordinated work relationship exists at all times.
  • Responsible for inventory usage and all other department cost.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records (I.E. timecards, downtime records, absentee records, etc.)
  • Enforces company policies in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Meet customer load dates by ensuring all scheduled products are made on-time, accurate, and 100% complete.
  • Performs other duties as required or directed.


  • Associates degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Management, or another related field, or 7 years related experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret regulations and policies in accordance with Company guidelines.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to effectively enforce applicable regulations and policies.
  • Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with other departments and customers.
  • Ability to work flexible hours depending upon the needs of the department.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • English / Spanish Bilingual skills preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge Microsoft Excel, Word, and basic knowledge of PowerPoint
